Website design and development is a crucial aspect while determining the organizations overall growth and understand how and what an organization deals with. In continuation to our blog series on website rights and wrongs! Here’s our next; last set of list to associate with your websites.
Rule no 13
A great call-to-action but is it really getting your customers there?
So all seems to be working fine and you have set up a great call-to-action to get your customers clicking through it but does it really have the same offer with what the call-to-action actually offers?
There’s nothing more frustrating then coming to something else then what was promised to the customer.
What to do?
Do not play with your potential customers, once they get offended they would not want to come back to get cheated again. It would hurt your reputation as well as your conversion rates.
Rule no 14
Internal linking and it’s not user-friendly?
Internal links are helpful for readers and websites alike leading to important and relevant information and improve the organic ranking for important pages within the website.
Make sure the internal linking is done correctly, where the content is yet reader-friendly without over-doing it, not marked to irrelevant pages and linking strange phases within the copy.
What to do?
Include internal links only to relevant pages on your website that will add to enhance the reader’s experience, and include that link on the anchor text that makes the most sense.
Very important to note that the links open to a new tab in the browser and not on the same window.
You surely don’t want your visitors drifting away without reading all of your website details.
Rule no 15
Image sliders which take a long time to load!
Image sliders work when you want to showcase a lot of picture details in an efficient manner yet saving space. Image carousels should be efficient and load quickly without a new page to load every time a user clicks on the next image.
What to do?
Make sure when clicking on images, it is efficient and the page doesn’t load an entirely new web page as this can increase page load time by several seconds every time the webpage loads and the rule of the thumb is the longer the website takes to load, the more the people will abandon it. Keep it quick and easy while adding written text with each slider.
